In cooperation between the Egyptian Society of Food Safety and the Department of Toxicology and Food Contaminants, National Research Centre.     The symposium  was held on Wednesday 17 February 2016 in the new hall of the National Research Centre under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Ghada Waly, Minister of Social Solidarity and Prof. Dr. Ashraf Shaalan, President of the National Research Centre. The symposium’s rapporteur, Pro. Dr. Assem Anwar Abou-Arab and the symposium  organizer is Assi. Prof. Lamyaa Sileem, Secretary General of the Association.  

Food safety and radiation techniques

In cooperation between the Egyptian Society of Food Safety and the National Centre for Radiation Research and Technology, Atomic Energy Commission. The symposium was held on Saturday, 6 August 2016, at the main hall of the National Centre for Radiation Research and Technology, Atomic Energy Authority in Nasr City under the auspices of the Atomic Energy Commission. First International Conference of Egyptian Society of Food Safety

The first International Conference on Food Safety “Science, Health and Behavior” was held in Sharm El-Sheikh under the Auspices of President of the Arab Republic of Egypt Abdelfattah El-Sisi. President of the conference, Prof. Dr. Assem Anwar Abou-Arab-President of the Association, Vice President of the Conference, Prof. Dr. Mohamed Mahmoud Naguib, Conference Rapporteur, Assi. Prof. Lamyaa sileem- Secretary General of the Association, Financial Rapporteur, Prof. Dr. Mahmoud Abdel Monaim Abou Donia- Treasurer of the Society and Conference Secretary Prof. Dr. Magdy Moheb El-din Saad. c 

Social participations and invitations

The Association has carried out many social participations and invitations as follows: Participation in Orphan’s Day in cooperation with the Social Affairs Administration. Take care of the child by making visits to places where they gather, such as nurseries. Raising citizens’ awareness of harmful behaviors such as smoking. Community participation in International Women’s Day. Continuous visits to hospitals, especially Hospital 57357, and Kasr El Aini Hospital. Allocating prizes for distinguished individuals in various fields.    

Media Activities

1 – Provide the page of the Assembly daily with simple information on food safety and public health to educate members and visitors of the page. 2- – Supply of newspapers, websites, television channels and radio programs with public opinion issues related to the areas of food safety and human health. 3- Communicating with different media. 4- Continuous confirmation on the role of audio and visual media in spreading the culture of food safety.

Cooperation and agreements

1- Cooperation between the Society and the National Research Centre in holding scientific symposia specialized in food safety. 2-Cooperation between the Society and the National Center for Radiation Research and Technology – Atomic Energy Commission to participate in symposia and conferences on food safety and provide scientific consultations on radiation treatments and training of quality control staff for food safety treated with radiation.
